Newtown Square resident, Hailey Parker, was only 10 years old when she was diagnosed with a form of brain cancer called GBM and only 11 when she lost her battle a few months later. The Fight Like Hail Holiday Giving Project was created to honor Hailey and her generous nature. This year’s project seeks to collect food and snacks to be donated to The Ronald McDonald Houses of Philadelphia and the Oncology floor of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Suggested items include snack packages of pretzels, granola bars, raisins, chips, peanut butter crackers, fruit snacks, animal crackers, cheese crackers, trail mix, hot chocolate packets and microwaveable soups
Donations can be dropped off at either Polito’s Auto Service (35 Reese Avenue, Newtown Square) or the Polito home (address in the directory). The last day to drop off items is Friday, December 8.
