REFORMATION – FIRST FAIR TRADE CONGREGATION IN PA!

REFORMATION – FIRST FAIR TRADE CONGREGATION IN PA!

It’s official! We are pleased to announce that our church has recently earned the designation of a Fair Trade congregation by the national Fair Trade Campaign organization. This organization recognizes towns, schools, and congregations across the US who embed fair trade purchasing practices and principles into their operation.

Many of you are aware that Media was designated the first Fair Trade town in the country in 2006. By earning Fair Trade status, Reformation is the first congregation in Pennsylvania to receive this designation!

By purchasing Fair Trade products like coffee and chocolate, we are helping farmers receive a fair price for their crops. It also helps communities by insuring that fair labor practices are followed and encourages more ecologically sustainable farming practices.

We are delighted to receive this designation and we will continue to look for ways to incorporate fair trade products and principles in our congregation.
