Meet Pastor Eileen Ruppel-Doan
Pastor Eileen (she/her/hers) grew up attending St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Aurora, IL. She was raised in the Chicago suburbs and lived in Illinois through college.
Pastor Eileen attended Augustana College in the Quad Cities, majoring in Religion with a double minor in Graphic Design and New Testament Greek. Throughout college, she worked as a Youth Director for middle and high school students at South Park Presbyterian Church in Rock Island, IL. Pastor Eileen graduated in 2018 and then married her college sweetheart Ethan Doan. They moved from Illinois to Philadelphia where they both attended United Lutheran Seminary.
While in seminary, Pastor Eileen served as a field education student at St. John’s Lutheran Church in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia. She also worked as both an intern and as a senior seminarian at Calvary Lutheran Church in West Chester, PA. She completed her chaplaincy internship training at Lankenau Medical Center in Wynnewood, PA. She graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 2022 and shortly after began working at Reformation as a pastoral assistant.
Pastor Eileen currently lives with her spouse Ethan (also a pastor), and their son Luca, who was born in 2022. Pastor Eileen loves holidays, coffee, and the beach and in her free time enjoys watching live theater and experimenting with fun hair colors. She is grateful for the welcoming and affirming community of Reformation and is proud to be part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
