As the days get shorter and the weather turns colder, we give thanks to our Gardening Angels, who have worked hard to plant and maintain our gardens since early Spring. The color explosion began when the first daffodils bloomed, and continued throughout the summer with daylilies, knock-out rose bushes, and other perennials that have come back stronger each year under the meticulous care of our angels. Each week brought new colors to our grounds as one plant finished blooming and gave way to another flower opening. The red vinca planted after Pentecost filled the beds and grew to huge heights due to the attention of our volunteers. Our gardening angels planted, mulched, fertilized, trimmed, weeded and watered throughout the summer. Let us thank Toini and Peter Scherer, Christel Badey, Ron Bingeman, Ron Brzowski, Sandy Coll, Betsy Kamin, Lisa Kilpatrick, Jean and David Robertson, Carol Steinbrecher, and Deacon Beth Barkhau for their hard work and dedication that brings beauty and butterflies to our gardens.
