The February meeting of the OWLs brought out an enthusiastic group of art lovers to hear Pat Hacik and Marilyn Gilroy as they presented Art Goes to School. We are fortunate to have these dedicated volunteers among our congregation members! We are also lucky to have the folks who work so hard to prepare the delicious hot meals, especially the wonderful donated desserts! (OWLs do love those desserts!) There is room for additional folks on the steering committee! Just speak to Sue Bianco, Edna Bogert, Sally Burkam, Joanne Riess, or Mary Shook, if you’d like to join in the fun of planning meetings! Other dedicated people who help are Sally Phillips, treasurer, who collects the offerings and expense receipts and does bank deposits, and Ron Brzowski, who sets up tables and chairs for each meeting. Ron’s volunteer job at the Constitution Center prevents his putting them away, so our membership helps with that chore. Many hands make lighter work!
On Monday, March 9, the desserts will be brought by our presenter, Kimberly Bove, public relations representative, who will give information about Plush Mills and related senior living facilities. Lunch will be appetizers, pizza, and salad. As always free-will donations cover food expenses, table coverings and decorations. The OWLs also make donations from these free-will offerings in memory of members who pass away, most recently Bill Cooper in December and Elizabeth Robinson in January. The March meeting begins at 12:30 with a devotion, followed by food, fun, and fellowship and the program, and is over by 2:30. All are welcome. Come and bring a friend!!
