Now let us be united, and let our song be heard. Now let us be a vessel for God’s redeeming Word. We all are one in mission; we all are one in call, our varied gifts united, by Christ, the Lord of all. – Rusty Edwards, We All are One in Mission (Hymn #576 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship)
I hope many of you have already had an opportunity to meet our summer intern, Vivian Long.
She started at Reformation in late May. During this time she has been involved in so many ministries of Reformation including Vacation Bible School, Art in the Heart of Worship, Pew Projects, Education, and Youth programs – and not to mention many of the day-to-day tasks of a church office that she has contributed to as well!
Vivian has done an exceptional job and we have been blessed by her work, her joyous personality, her creative approaches, and her enthusiasm about working as a part of a team.
The summer internship program is now in its second year here at Reformation. It continues to prove to be a wonderful opportunity for this congregation to invest in a great job experience for a college student and at the same time have our ministries here so incredibly blessed and enhanced by the work they are able to do in partnership with our members and staff.
When you see Vivian, please take the opportunity to thank her for her work among us and wish her well as she heads back to Susquehanna University (Go River Hawks!) to begin her sophomore year. But I also invite you to give thanks to God for Vivian’s willingness to partner with us in ministry this year and for the commitment of Reformation to provide this opportunity and learn from our summer interns.
We continue to look to the future with excitement for the possibilities that this summer internship program can continue to bring to Reformation.
Blessings!
