“Places in the Heart” is a quiet character piece, a 1984 American drama film about a Depression-era Texas woman who tries to save her family farm with some help from surprising places. It’s a movie about relationships, community, forgiveness, redemption, and more. If I say more than that I risk giving away some spoilers! Pay particular attention to the final scene of the film. Sally Field stars (won an Academy Award for Best Actress) along with Ed Harris, Amy Madigan, John Malkovich, and Danny Glover.
