Reformation Scribes: The Gospel of Mark Project is a handwritten NRSV copy of Mark’s Gospel for worship use. Created by Reformation members and friends, all ages included, during the months of September and October 2020, Reformation Scribes: The Gospel of Mark Project assists to engage our congregation in living out our mission.
Each participant is encouraged to write, scribe, through cursive or printed handwriting, calligraphy or however one defines their handwriting. All handwriting, little or big, loopy or wobbly, printed tall, or written small is acceptable. Let go of that ‘perfect penmanship’ mindset and celebrate doing God’s work, with your hands. In addition, those who scribe might also choose to decorate, “illuminate,” their submissions. Illumination, drawings that accompany text, are not a requirement for submitting a scribed passage.
Deadline for all submissions is October 31, 2020. Reformation’s handwritten Gospel of Mark will be dedicated to the glory of God and be used in worship starting the First Sunday of Advent, 2020.
