This year for God’s Work Our Hands Sunday, the Community Action Team invites you to get involved with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services! LIRS “is the largest faith-based nonprofit dedicated to serving vulnerable immigrants, asylum seekers and refugees in the U.S.”
On September 17, we will be participating in LIRS’ “A Fresh Change” Program. Reformation will be providing drawstring bags along with instructions to fill them up with new adult clothing for immigrants and refugees arriving in the U.S. or being released from detention centers. The bags will be due back to be blessed during worship on October 8. Also on October 8, we will hear from this year’s Reinhard Scholar, Cassandra, about her work with LIRS!
