Attention! Anyone interested in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and the use of our new Zoll AED (Automated Electronic Defibrillator)!
I have been able to team up with an outstanding instructor who is available to introduce our congregation to the use of an AED and is also willing to teach anyone in our congregation CPR with the use of an AED!
On May 4th at 9:45 AM in Creighton Hall, Frank Poliafico RN and I, will meet with our team and any interested members in Creighton Hall to introduce the Zoll AED and run a practice drill.
On May 17th, Frank Poliafico RN will persent a CPR course for any member wishing to be certified in CPR with the use of an AED. He is willing to charge only $18 for supplies, which is a $60-100 savings for each individual.
Nine members have so far volunteered to be on a emergency team for our congregation, we need more members to be CPR ready! This is a special program generously provided at our church. Eighty percent of sudden cardiac arrests occur in homes. Use this offer to educate yourself and potentially save a member of your own family.
Who is Frank Poliafico RN? A graduate of Widener University College of Nursing, Frank began his career as an ER staff nurse at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Chester, PA. A recognized leader in Emergency Medical Services System development, he directed the establishment of the EMS program in Delaware County, PA; was the first Chief of EMS in Chester.
From 2002-2006 Frank served as Executive Director of the nonprofit AED Instructor Foundation. Now known as the Initial Life Support Federation, he continues to serve this group pro-bono as the Federation assists and supports CPR/AED instructors, parish nurses and other health care professionals in establishing early defibrillation programs by advancing onsite (“Pre-EMS’) emergency medical preparedness and improving “infrequent responder” action at the time of sudden cardiac arrests that may occur at home, at work or elsewhere in each community.
Presently He serves on the Advisory Board of the Widener University College of Nursing. Frank is a frequent presenter at state, national and international EMS, health and safety symposia; and has also appeared on many local and national radio and TV programs.
Please Join us in May for this outstanding program!
