September’s OWLs meeting was Beach Magic, a chance to eat picnic-style food together, to catch up with old friends, meet some new ones, and enjoy an entertaining program of magic! Frank Bianco’s slight-of-hand card tricks amazed and delighted his audience. When presented with an honorarium, he donated it to Reformation in memory of his brother, Bill Bianco, whom we all miss. Then he went down the hall to do a few age-appropriate tricks for the Kindergarteners!
Monday, October 9, will be the next meeting of the OWLs. Lunch will be Oktoberfest style, and the program is on Beekeeping! Former teacher Karen Chorney chose this as one of her retirement activities. She will not only tell us how to become beekeepers, but we hope she will also share with us a taste of the honey her bees have produced! Since honey bees are currently endangered, we hope to learn what we can all do to help save this species. All RLC members and friends are invited to this interesting and informative program!
OWLs meetings are held on the second Monday of the month in Creighton Hall. Meetings begin at 12:30 with a short devotion, followed by lunch and program, and end by 2:30. Free-will offerings may be placed in containers on the tables. All ages are welcome!
