5 Zoom Tips for Reformation Coffee and Conversation and Meetings
- All are welcome. All will be welcomed. As people join our meetings, your host will greet people to assist in living Reformation’s welcome to all. In the virtual tool Zoom your name will appear on the video screen if you choose to join Zoom either by audio or video.
- Be patient with one another and your host. The first opening minutes of any virtual gathering people is like people walking into a room and settling in at a table. As people join, you may experience brief pauses or short delays in your imaging/viewing.
- You can adjust your screen to show one full screen image or multiple in option called. Choose between speaker view and gallery view. One lets you see thumbnail displays of participants, in a grid pattern, which expands and contracts as participants join and leave the meeting. The other makes the speaker’s image fill the screen.
- Zoom has a “Mute Microphone” option that cuts down on ambient feedback for all who participate. When there is a lot of back-and-forth discussion you will turn this off, but you should mute yourself when listening to another person in the chat room.
- Adjust your lighting if it is difficult for you to see. Strive to not sit directly in front or beside a bright light source, or else all the audience sees is a bright light and a shadowy figure. You may need to experiment with until you can see your brightly-lit face on the screen.
Please remember that in this time the expenses of Reformation continue and there is always the option to make your financial gift through our website. We thank you for your generosity all year and through this uncertain time.
Through these uncertain days we continue to pray for the hope and healing that comes through God’s love and grace present with us in this world, to calm our fears, and give us the hope for God’s future.
