Lent Wednesdays

ASH WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 22

Join us for worship! We begin our Lent journey on Ash Wednesday at 12 noon and 7:30 PM in-person (7:30 livestreamed.)

ASHES UNDER THE TENT

5:00-6:00 pm in the East Parking Lot on February 22, weather permitting. Stop by any time during this hour for a brief, 3-4 minute gathering for prayer and the imposition of ashes under the pop-up canopy.

WEDNESDAYS IN LENT

March 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 we invite you to gather for a soup supper and fellowship at 6:30 p.m. in Creighton Hall. The soup supper will be followed by Holden Evening Prayer in the sanctuary at 7:30 p.m. You are welcome to join us for both – or come and join us at the start of worship. If you are able to bring soup or bread to the meal, please sign up in the lobby.

Write a Lent Devotion

Contribute a devotion that will be emailed to the congregation throughout this Lenten season!
Share your brief responses to the prompt: “Where is hope alive for you this Lenten season?”
Scripture and images may be submitted as well. Contact Pastor Eileen with questions.

Lent Book

Read our 2023 Lent BookHope: A User’s Manual by MaryAnn McKibben Dana. Copies are available at the church, as a Kindle download, or from your favorite book seller.  Contact the church office if you need assistance obtaining a copy of the book. Groups for discussion will be offered – see Connection Group page for more details. We will also be hosting a virtual conversation with the author of our Lent Book on Tuesday, March 28 at 7:00 pm on Zoom.

Lent Art

Lent Art: Living Hope – During Lent, an art installation will be in the front of the sanctuary. Featuring our wooden cross, the display will change and grow during the weeks of Lent, depicting our Living Hope and the newness of life through the changing days of spring.

Lent Prayer Path

Our woodchip path will feature Stations in the Streeta contemporary stations of the cross by artist Scott Erickson. Stop by for a meditative walk anytime February 22 – April 9. The path begins in the east parking lot on the side by Rose Tree Road.

Holy Week

Palm/Passion Sunday

We begin holy week on Sunday, April 2 with worship at 8:30 am and 11:00 am. Download your palm here.

Maundy Thursday

Worship begins at 7:30 PM, April 6, as we remember the Last Supper.

Good Friday

We will observe Good Friday on April 7 at Noon and 7:30 PM as we recount Jesus’ last days.

Easter Vigil

Saturday, April 8 at 7:30 PM with guest preacher, Rev. Stacey-Kyle Rea.

EASTER SUNDAY!

CHRIST IS RISEN! Sunday, April 9 at 8 AM, 9:30 AM and 11 AM we will celebrate Resurrection Sunday.
