September 2015 – From the Pastor

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to Great Places!
You’re off and away!

OH! THE PLACES YOU’LL GO!

(Oh, the Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss, 1990)

This summer we Reformation members have been invited to take a photo representation of the Reformation cross with them on their travels and to take a photo of the cross to show where they have been.

As of August 14 the Reformation cross had been as far away as Norway, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Aruba, as well as the nearby states of New Jersey, New York, Maryland, and Virginia, the slightly farther away states of Maine, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Kentucky, and even as far as Texas and Washington state, plus at least 13 places across the state of Pennsylvania.

Keep the photos coming if you are traveling in September!

This project has provided enjoyment for those who view the photos on the screen in the narthex. It is not only fun, but it also reminds us that wherever we are, wherever we go, God is with us and is present in and through us. We bear God’s presence and grace in every place.

We also bear God’s loving presence close to home as we serve the children at the Chester Eastside Summer Day Camp, as we serve meals to homeless people at the Life Center in Upper Darby, and as we share the love of God with children at our Vacation Bible School.

And you bear God’s loving presence in countless other ways that are not as widely publicized or well-known, because wherever you are, you bring God’s love and mercy to those with whom you relate.

Oh, the places you’ll go! God’s love, grace, and mercy extend “to the ends of the earth.” And it extends to you, wherever you are. We are always living in God’s Amazing Grace!

God’s peace be with you.
