Stay and Play, the after-school program at Reformation, is supporting a shoe drive being conducted by Gratitude for Grandparents (G4G), an organization for grandparents raising their grandchildren. G4G will receive money for the donated shoes from Funds2Orgs which will help fund summer camp programs for grandchildren.
Funds2Orgs then redistributes the shoes to microentrepreneurs in developing countries and works with microentrepreneurs to help create, maintain, and grow small businesses in countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. Proceeds from the sales of shoes collected are used to feed, clothe, and house their families.
All types of new or gently used shoes are being collected. Shoes may be placed in the collection box in the lobby until March 29. Please see Linda Bucher or Deacon Beth with questions.
