Just in the past year Thrivent members have made a big difference to ministry in our church–through many “Box Action Team” projects. Some of the ministry projects that have benefited are Chester Migrant Ministry, Scholar In Residence 2015, Lebanon Valley Choir Concert, Repairs to Preschool Rooms, Patriotic Concert, East Side Ministries, Chester Children’s Choir Concert, and Vacation Bible School 2015. Thank you to all of you who have applied for this money!
Basically, anything that is God’s work will be approved for the $250 “seed money” Visa card. Furthermore, Thrivent members can obtain $250 seed money for projects here at Reformation twice a year. You can buy promotional items, supplies for the project, refreshments for a gathering, items that you are giving to neighbors in need, etc. Each Thrivent Member can apply two times a year! Imagine if all our members were doing this? That could be $35,000 toward ministry at Reformation! One caveat is that you must apply at least 21 days in advance of the project start date. Call Jennifer Breen (610-565-2544) for information.
Another easy way to be generous: at no cost to you who are members, insurance premiums and contract values generate “Choice Dollars”. You can login on the thrivent.com website and direct this “free money” to Reformation or other enrolled charities. Again, you will be living out our mission statement!
HOW CAN YOU BECOME A THRIVENT MEMBER?
How can YOU become a member, if you aren’t already? Talk to Rachel Irvine, Jennifer Breen, or Dave Chorney–or call our representative, Rick Henricks (484-875-0202). Thrivent Financial helps YOU grow financially, and it contributes to causes you care about. There are about 70 members in our congregation, so many already know of the benefits Thrivent offers.
You can be an Associate Member for $19.95, or if you use Thrivent for any of your financial investment or insurance needs, you become a member. Thrivent has a full range of services (Roth IRAs, IRAs, a credit union, life insurance, long term care policies, mutual funds, etc.) and they even have social networks and free worship materials. I wouldn’t be putting this information in our newsletter if I didn’t think it was worthwhile for everyone. Thrivent’s motto is “Live Generously”, and you can certainly do that with Thrivent’s help.
