Media Chamber Chorale will give two concerts in
May, featuring the Faure Requiem. Music will
also include a medley from Phantom of the
Opera, as well as other light music. The concerts
will be given on Friday, May 20 at 7:30 at
Wallingford Presbyterian Church, and Saturday,
May 21, at 7:30 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church,
Springfield.
John Stroud, director of Media Chamber Chorale,
will direct the Faure Requiem at both concerts.
For the first time ever, the chorale will be joined
at the St. Matthew concert by 50 members of the
Chester Children’s Chorus! John Alston, director
of the Chester Children’s Chorus, will conduct
both groups in singing together traditional
spirituals, as well as one of his own compositions.
Having an excellent bass voice, he will also sing
the requiem with them.
