2017-2018 Concert Series

Leibig Legacy Lives On

I am thrilled to announce the launch of a new concert series here at Reformation! With the generous support of the Leibig Committee, we are hosting a series of world class musicians. Through these concerts, we are serving our neighbors, supporting art, supporting the church, and keeping the Leibig legacy alive. Providing quality music to the community is ministry. By offering our concerts for free, we are providing access to music of the highest quality to those who might not otherwise be able to afford it.  Reformation Lutheran Church becomes synonymous with quality music for all. You don’t have to take my word for it, Martin Luther said, “Next to the Word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world.”

Our inaugural concert Thursday, September 28, at 8 pm will feature the Mirror Visions Ensemble on. According to the New Yorker, “For a quarter century, this enterprising ensemble of voices has been presenting new American songs with both charm and expertise.” In the near future watch for a full press release announcing the entire season and additional information. Thank you for your support, enthusiasm, and love of music.

Reformation Lutheran Church hosts a new series. It will feature three to four performances each year of renowned performers from around the country. This concert series is made possible by generous support from Reformation Lutheran Church and the Leibig Fund, in memory of David Leibig. The series is under the artistic direction of Erik Flaten.

Tickets: All performances are free admission with suggested donation of $10. Free admission is courtesy of the Leibig Fund.

Thursday, September 28 at 8:00 p.m. Mirror Visions Ensemble (MVE) begins the inaugural season of the Media Performing Arts Series. MVE is the perfect opening act for the season, as the goal for the series is to feature new works paired with masterpieces of the past.

Saturday November 25 at 4:00 p.m. soprano Leah Golub will present a program of beloved songs from the Great American Songbook to Rachmaninoff. Program will include a pre-concert discussion at 3:00 p.m. on the tradition of song, and the unique sound of American music.

Friday, April 6, 2018 at 8:00 p.m. concert pianist John Pickett will dazzle with his “impeccable” playing, as praised by The New York Times.  In addition to classic repertoire, new compositions will also be featured.

All are welcome – please invite your friends and share via social media!
