November OWLs

November OWLs

October saw a record turnout for the OWLs, in spite of drenching rain in the morning.  Karen Chorney’s talk on the importance of honey bees in our lives, and on the enjoyment Karen has found in caring for her two beehives, made venturing out on such a day quite worth while.  (Plus we all got to taste raw honey made by Karen’s bees!)

Adventure-loving Sally Burkam will present the program in November. She will talk about and show photos of her recent boat trip down the Columbia and Snake Rivers in Washington and Oregon.  If you saw Sally’s last presentation about her trip to New Zealand, you won’t want to miss this one!

The date for the next meeting is November 13 from 12:30 to 2:30. It will begin with a devotion about Veteran’s Day by Tom Gibson, followed by a hot lunch (think Thanksgiving-style) and then the program.

All this food, fun, and fellowship for a free-will offering (plus maybe a bit of help in cleaning up, if you are able.)  The OWLs steering committee does the rest!

Many thanks to Ron Brzowski, who has volunteered to set up tables and chairs for every meeting.

As always, all members and friends are welcome to attend!
