Saturday, February 17
10:00 am – 12 noon
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.
QPR is a free, nationally recognized, evidence-based suicide prevention training designed to help anyone identify a crisis and the warning signs that someone may be contemplating suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
Melissa McElwaine, LCSW, Suicide Prevention Coordinator for Delaware County will hold a QPR training program at Reformation on Saturday, February 17, from 10:00 am to 12 noon in the Rock Room. This QPR program is OPEN TO ALL – so please spread the word. Please sign up on the counter in the lobby (gathering space) or by calling or emailing the church office. THERE IS NO COST TO YOU, just your time and interest in potentially saving a life.
The incidence of suicide is of epidemic proportion, so please don’t miss this opportunity to learn QPR.
