Generous Donors Remember Reformation in Their Wills

“Planned Gifts” are a way for people to support the mission of the church beyond their earthly life. There are a variety of ways in which people can make a planned gift but the most common way is through a person’s will (a “bequest”).

We are grateful for the faithful generosity of all who give in this way and in particular for the bequests which have been received in recent months from the estates of the following persons:

Genevieve H. Savio (former member of Messiah, Newtown Square)

Elizabeth Robinson

Debra Felton

In accordance with our longstanding policy, those bequests, which total $50,000, have been used to pay down our mortgage. Thanks to the generosity of these donors our mortgage balance has been reduced from just over $100,000 to a little more than $50,000.

One of the ways we recognize and honor these donors is through The 1517 Society. The 1517 Society consists of members and friends of Reformation Lutheran Church who have included our church in their wills or provided for some other kind of planned gift or bequest to the church either during their lifetime or upon their death. Please contact the church office, Pastor Wayne, Pastor Alina or President Dick Hughey if you would like to discuss membership in the society.
