Community Action Ministry

Chairperson – Linda Bucher

Community action is just that – taking action in our local community.

Life Center of Eastern Delaware County

Several times a year we go to this facility to help feed the homeless in Upper Darby. Many volunteers are needed for this task – click the link above to find out how you can help.

Aid for Friends

Providing meals, soups, and stews for distribution to the homebound through Aid for Friends. If you would like to help with this outreach program, trays and containers (with instructions) are always available in the Narthex for you to fill at home, freeze, and bring to the church freezer.

Christmas – St. Nicholas Project

Each Advent, providing new clothing, toys, blankets and many other items for distribution to a variety of charities.  Take a tag with a gift of your choice, and bring in the purchased gift on St. Nicholas Day.

Holiday Food Baskets

Providing meals at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, through organizations that serve local families in need.  Help by purchasing nonperishable food to fill a grocery bag or by donating money to help purchase the holiday meat and other perishable items.  Volunteers are always welcome to help with the food distribution as well.

Various collections throughout the year

As needs arise, collecting for various organizations.   We have collected school supplies for children in need, duffle bags and suitcases for children in foster care, vitamins for children in Haiti, diapers and baby formula for families in transitional housing, and much more.  Look for notices in the weekly Bulletin and collection boxes in the Narthex.
