Please Join Us This Season!

Advent is the start of a new church year as we begin our preparations to celebrate the birth of Christ. There are wonderful opportunities to invite friends and family to be a part of these special worship opportunities during Advent and Christmas and for them to join us in service and fellowship as well.

November 23
The Reformation Advent Festival will be held at 9:45 a.m. in Creighton Hall for all ages. There will be an opportunity to make an advent wreath for your home, make crafts for our homebound members and sign cards to be placed in our holiday food bags.

November 30
The first Sunday of Advent
“Longing for the Light of Healing and Hope” liturgy which includes a Prayer Litany and, optionally, Candle Lighting and Individual Prayer for Healing.

December 7
Second Sunday of Advent
St. Nicholas Gift Giving during both worships. Bring in the gifts you selected to give from our giving table.

December 12 & December 13
Chester Children’s Chorus Concerts will be held on Friday, December 12, and Saturday, December 13, at the Lang Concert Hall at Swarthmore College. The concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. Reformation is a sponsor of the concert and will be providing dinner for the children prior to the Friday night concert.

December 14
Third Sunday of Advent
Christmas Caroling to our homebound following the 11:00 worship. We will meet at the church at 12:15 p.m. fora light lunch and break into groups. This is a great opportunity to visit our homebound members and share holiday joy with them.

December 21
Fourth Sunday of Advent
Blessing of the Greens during both worships. Hanging of the Greens will take place on immediately following the 11:00 worship. Everyone is invited to help us decorate the tree, hang wreaths and pine roping in preparation for our Christmas worships.

December 24
Christmas Eve
Worship at 4:00, 6:00, 8:00 and 10:00 p.m. – ALL are welcome!!! All services include carols, candlelight and communion.

4:00 p.m. – a special service designed especially for children who will participate in “Las Posadas”, the journey of Mary and Joseph as they seek room for the Christ-child.

6:00 p.m. – a service featuring familiar carols sung in an upbeat contemporary rock style.

8:00 and 10:00 p.m. – services featuring traditional carols sung in a traditional style.

December 25
Christmas Day
Worship at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Birthday Cake for Jesus! – Great for the entire family!

December 28
First Sunday of Christmas
Services at 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. – Special Service of Carols and Communion
