October’s meeting began with a seasonal devotion given by Margie Gibson, followed by a special home-cooked Oktoberfest meal, prepared by Edna Bogert and Sally Burkam. The OWLs were pleased to welcome guests from Messiah Lutheran Church in Newtown Square! After a short business meeting led by Sue Bianco, we were entertained at the piano by Gladys Martin, playing some Hofbrauhaus Oom pah music as we sang along, with Marlyn Martinson leading the songs. Tom Gibson added a short, funny comedy skit to the entertainment. Great fun! Leftovers from the meal were packaged for Aid For Friends.
Important Change of Date Notice!! November’s meeting will be a visit to Penncrest High School on November 13th for a wonderful program by the Ambassadors and the Jazz Band, followed by a delicious Thanksgiving turkey dinner. All for only $3.00! We will be transported by school bus from the church to Penncrest and back again. Reservations and money needed by Sunday, November 2. This will be November’s only OWLs get-together!
