Outreach – Serving our Neighbors

Reformation’s mission statement says “We Serve our neighbor”.  A neighbor can be a person across the street or across the world.  In the parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus defined neighbor as the person who needed help.  Reformation helps neighbors both near and far and wants everyone to experience the joy and satisfaction of being part of serving ministry opportunities.

Ministries

We have many opportunities to serve in our ministries – especially in our Community Action Ministry which is our local service, and our Global Mission ministry, which is outside our local reach.

Parish Nurse

Our Parish Nurse addresses the spiritual, physical, and emotional health needs of the congregation.

Library

The Reformation Library serves our congregation and its ministries with more than 1700 items in our self-serve library collection including books, periodicals, videos, audio cd’s, music, collections for children, teens and adults.

Scholarships

Reformation is fortunate to have three scholarships they award annually as well to aid students in the high cost of education.

Patriotic Concert

The annual Patriotic Concert features music by Philly Pops clarinetist, Joe Smith, and his Dixieland band in addition to the Media Festival Choir. The Mayor of Media along with representatives from the American Legion and the Veterans Museum also speak at the event.  The Patriotic Concert of 2013 was held at Reformation, and it delighted a capacity crowd!

Chester Children’s Chorus

Reformation began its relationship with Chester Children’s Chorus (CCC) in April of 2011.  The mission of CCC is to provide the children of Chester with the opportunity to achieve musical excellence and expand their intellectual and cultural horizons, allowing then to flourish as confident individuals. We have hosted and sponsored various performances and supported them financially.  Learn more here.
